Susan Gonsalves
Susan Gonsalves lives in central Massachusetts and was diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder about 12 years ago. In addition, she has been living with chronic myelogenous leukemia since 2014.
A career journalist, she is currently the editor-in-chief of a mental health publication, an education reporter at a newspaper, and contributes to the www.blood-cancer.com website as a writer and moderator.
The opportunity to work remotely means she can juggle the side effects of her conditions, has the flexibility to go to medical appointments, and manage her own time.
Pre-COVID, she was a clarinetist with a symphonic band for 3 decades and still participates in a multi-generational 100-member choir that performs rock music.
Susan is excited to share her experiences coping with depression with the goal of helping others feel less alone.
