The Silent Weight of Multiple Chronic Conditions
Living with multiple chronic conditions like fibroadenoma, PCOS, Endometriosis, ADHD, Scoliosis, Neck Arthritis, and PTSD can be incredibly challenging, especially when it comes to day‑to‑day activities. Each condition brings its own weight, but right now Endometriosis is the hardest for me.
Every day has the potential to be a flare day, and I still have to move through the world smiling, functioning, and pretending I’m fine while managing pain that most people never see.
Navigating the world with severe anxiety and SAD
On top of that, with season affective disorder (SAD) and severe anxiety disorder, even something as simple as talking to a cashier can feel like climbing a mountain. It’s a lot to carry at once, and most of it happens silently.
Finding peace through radical self-compassion
What helps me cope on my mental health journey is giving myself permission to slow down and create small pockets of peace. Sometimes that looks like grounding myself with deep breaths before I walk into a store. Sometimes it’s journaling the pain, so it doesn’t stay trapped in my body. Sometimes it’s letting myself rest without guilt. And sometimes it’s reminding myself that surviving the day, even if it’s messy, even if it’s painful, is still a victory.
Sharing my story helps too. It reminds me that I’m not alone, and maybe someone reading this will feel a little less alone as well.
