Michael Havens

Michael Havens was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri and still calls the city his home today with his beloved cat, Orion. Born hard of hearing/deaf, Michael has always used his voice to advocate for himself, as well as any other groups that face discrimination or judgement for simply existing, which naturally extends to anyone struggling with their mental health.

Michael has battled with his mental health problems since he was very young, but he was only officially diagnosed in the last two years with Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Anorexia Nervosa. His struggles with mental and physical health issues have helped shape his unique perspective, believing in the inherent goodness of the world while acknowledging and loving the flaws that have led the world to its modern state.

He graduated from Drury University in 2022 with degrees in Classical Music and Spanish with emphases in classical voice and Latin American folk music. In his spare time, he enjoys annoying his cat with feathery toys, listening and singing to music, and getting way too invested in video games and books.
